Welcome to LumaRead

LumaRead is your personal speed reading trainer. Whether you're a student trying to keep up with coursework, a professional drowning in reports, or just someone who wants to read more books, LumaRead can help you read 2-3x faster.

Step 1: Upload Your First Document

LumaRead supports PDF and DOCX files. Simply click the upload button on your dashboard and select a document. We recommend starting with something familiar or lighter content (not a dense textbook) for your first session.

Step 2: Choose Your Reading Speed

The average reading speed is 200-250 WPM. We recommend starting at 300 WPM—just slightly above average. This gives you a gentle challenge without overwhelming you. You can adjust speed during your session.

Step 3: Customize Your Experience

  • Phrase Size: Choose how many words appear at once (1-4 recommended for beginners)
  • Acceleration: Gradually increase speed during a session
  • Theme: Select light or dark mode for comfortable reading

Step 4: Track Your Progress

LumaRead automatically tracks your reading sessions, including average WPM, total words read, and time spent. Use these statistics to see your improvement over time and stay motivated.

Tips for Success

  • Practice 15-20 minutes daily for best results
  • Start with easy material before tackling complex texts
  • Don't rush—comprehension is more important than speed
  • Take breaks if you feel fatigued
  • Gradually increase speed as you become comfortable
